I fly it over a grassy area to mitigate damage upon landing, noting it tends to pick up grass stains easily, hence shutting off the motors just before touchdown is advisable. After enhancing it with longer antennas and adjusting the power to 400mw, it comfortably covers a football field's distance. However, it may not be the best choice for complete beginners to FPV drones; a stint on a simulator is advisable before actual flight.
